Kylie Jenner has always kinda implied that Stormi’s name was set in stone from the get-go, but it turns out she changed the spelling at the very last moment, and we mean, like, the last possible second.
During her recent Halloween makeup video with YouTuber James Charles, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star revealed she switched it up while on the phone to the birth certificate office to register her name.
She also revealed that she had a whole other name in mind for her entirely, but ultimately felt like Stormi named herself.
“I was just looking at nature names, like weather and earth-inspired. Storm was on there, just Storm. And then I was like, I kinda want ‘ie’ like me, so then I did Stormie with ‘ie,’”
Ky revealed that all along she had intended to name her Stormie, even buying custom made things with that spelling.
“I didn’t fully choose her name, I wanted to have a week of just me and her to see if I wanted to change it. I had one other name in mind, but Stormi always felt like her name from when she was in the womb. It’s almost like she chose her name,” the makeup queen added.
And then when the time to officially register her name rolled around, Kylie decided to throw caution to the storm, er, we mean wind.
“When they called me from the birth certificate office, and I was finalizing the name, they were like ‘how do you wanna spell it?’ And I was like S-T-O-R-M-I, and they were like ‘you sure?’ and I’m like ‘yeah, just an i’,”
She added: “Literally right then and there I just changed it to an ‘i’. Then I hung up the phone and I was like ‘damn, guess that’s her name.’”
Damn, guess it is.
